Federal Glass was established in Columbus, Ohio in 1900. In the 1940s, they made glassware for restaurants, hospitals, hotels and even the military during World War II!
In the 1960s, the preference for dinnerware turned to plastics—not long after, Federal Glass ceased operations in 1979. 😟
This set’s design is called the Atomic Flower, which features retro flower power patterns on a sturdy milk glass. The plate has a unique lipped ridge and the cup has a twisted handle detail. Snack sets like these were popular in the 1950s for hospitality, to serve some tea and snacks to a friend or neighbour. Expect scratches on the prints due to their age.
Refer to closeup images of chips and scuff mark for the imperfect set.
